Hey guys!!! So first and foremost I just want to say a big thank you for all the support with my blog so far. It has truly been overwhelming and I can’t thank you enough!

So lets get into it!!! In today’s blog post I want to share some some alternatives to fast foods when you’re out with your little ones. Like most mommies I am very picky about what my daughter eats, and lets face it I don’t always have time to pack a lunch if I am going to be out running errands with SJ all day.

Here are my go to fast casual restaurants:

    Torchy’s Taco
I love this spot, my husband first introduced me to it and ever since then it has been my go to spot. The restaurant has a fun family oriented vibe going so children are very much welcomed. They have plenty option on the kids menu, several locations in the Houston area, and the price point is great.

    Check out their menu:

The Little Devil: Peanut butter and banana quesadilla hand-battered in corn flakes. Served crispy with strawberry jam..
Little Wrecker: 2 Trailer Park chicken tenders and 2 Fried Avocado bites served with lettuce, pico de gallo,& Poblano sauce.
Bean & Cheese Taco: Vegetarian Refried Beans topped with shredded Monterey jack and cheddar cheese in a flour tortilla. Roja Sauce has just a hint of spice, Chicken Taco: Delicious chicken topped with shredded Monterey jack and cheddar cheeses in a flour tortilla.
Chicken Quesadilla: Served with lettuce, sour cream, and a slice of avocado. Also available as a Cheese Quesadilla.

So SJ has had the chicken quesadilla and the Little Wrecker and she never says no to these meals. Some other pluses about Torchy’s Taco is that you can order online for pick up before you get there if your in a hurry and they have amazing margaritas if your decide to dine in, don’t worry mamas nobody will judge you if you have just one margarita.

    Price point: $2.50 -$3.95

     Chipotle
I like Chipotle because of their commitment to serve food with integrity, so this mean their meats are responsible raised, vegetables are grown in healthy soil and there food is prepared by hand. There are so many locations in the Houston area and many other cities nationwide.

Whenever we stop here SJ get the chicken quesadilla with a side of brown rice and beans from the kids meal menu, it also comes with your choice of organic milk, chocolate milk or apple juice and fruit. Now keep in mind you can substitute your sides for any other topping they have.  You can also order online for pick up if you’re in a hurry.  Oh yeah let me not forget they have bomb margaritas to moms!

    Price point ($3.75-$4.75)

     Starbucks
I don’t really do Starbuck unless I am really pressed for time but I enjoy the fact that they have a drive through so you don’t have to come out of your car. SJ like to get their protein bistro box or their PB&J on wheat bistro box. I think these are the most toddler friendly bistro boxes they have compared to the other bistro box options on their menu.

    Price point is under $4.00

So the next time your out with your kid(s) say no to fast foods and remember these healthy fast food restaurant alternatives. Healthy eating habit is a lifestyle and we have to teach our kiddos this at early age in order for it to stick with them forever. Hope this helps!
